
From March 27-28, join Portland Japanese Garden for Woodblock Weekend, a celebration of mokuhanga (Japanese woodblock printing), an artform featured in our first new exhibition of 2026, Enduring Impressions: Contemporary Woodblock Prints.
On Friday, March 27, visitors can learn more about mokuhanga in a personal tour gallery tour led by April Vollmer, Enduring Impressions exhibiting artist, and Stephen Salel, Curator of Japanese Art at the Honolulu of Art. This tour is included with daily admission.
On Saturday, March 28, those interested in taking a closer look at the beauty and artistry of mokuhanga can get tickets for two special talks featuring Vollmer, Salel, and Aki Nakanishi, Co-CEO of Portland Japanese Garden as well as the Arlene Schnitzer Curator of Culture, Art, and Education for the organization.
