Private Guided Tours
Private guided tours with trained volunteer guides are available for groups of 15-30 at a discounted rate. All private guided tours must be booked at least three weeks in advance and paid for in a single payment.
Guided 2-12 School Tours
The Portland Japanese Garden requires all visiting school groups grades 2-12 to have a guided tour of the Garden and offers a special discounted rate for students and chaperones. We allow a group size of 15-30 people in the Garden at a time. If your group is larger than 30 students and chaperones, the Tour Coordinator can work with you to split up your group. We require at least three weeks advance notice to book a guided school tour. In order to keep the Garden tranquil for our members, school tours are scheduled on Tuesday-Thursdays only.
The Garden offers discounted admission tickets to groups of 15-30 people (children 5 and under not included) who would like to visit the Garden without reserving a guided tour. These groups must book at least a week in advance and pay in a single payment to receive the discounted rate.
Photography and Videography Groups
Groups of 10 people or less can arrange to visit the Garden for non-commercial photo and/or video projects. Reservations for groups of this type must be made at least one month in advance. In order to keep the Garden tranquil for our members, we can only accomodate photo and/or video groups on Tuesdays-Sundays from 10am-4pm. We do not allow groups of this type to visit during the Garden’s high season of June, July, and August.
