Kuze Fuku & Sons
Kuze Fuku & Sons contemporary foods and beverages are made in Oregon by St.Cousair, Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of a Nagano-based maker of gourmet cuisine in Japan. St.Cousair was founded by Ryozo Kuze in 1976 from a jar of apple jam that his wife, Mayumi made to serve guests at the ski lodge they were running in Nagano. Carrying on their parents’ legacy with the same passion, sons Ryota and Naoki created the Kuze Fuku & Sons brand to bring specialty traditional and modern Japanese food to the USA and to the world. St.Cousair Inc. has invested in a factory in Oregon to be closer to raw materials and to source fresher ingredients for our food products.
Oyatsupan Bakers
Oyatsupan Bakers has established itself as one of the country’s most authentic and beloved Japanese bakeries since opening its doors in 2016 in Beaverton, Oregon. While many people associate sushi, ramen, and tempura with Japanese cuisine, bread and pastries are also an integral part of the country’s food culture. At Oyatsupan Bakers, founder Hiroyuki Horie and his skilled team build upon this tradition by baking everything from scratch using Hiroyuki’s extensively researched recipes several times daily to ensure peak freshness and flavor.
Umami Café
Our very own Umami Café will also be open during Savor Japan. The Café’s tea is provided by the Tokyo-based Jugetsudo tea company, while light snacks come from the Garden’s partnership with Japanese food company Ajinomoto, as well as several local Japanese confectioneries, including Yume Confections and Behind the Museum Café. The Umami Café has removed reservations and has introduced counter service and to-go orders—make sure you pop in during your visit to the Garden!
