
Celebrate O-Shogatsu (Japanese New Year) on January 1, 2026, at Portland Japanese Garden with fellow Garden members, friends and family! The Garden will open exclusively to members and their guests from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
January 1 is a special day when the Garden isn’t open to the public. Join us for complimentary festival tea in Umami Café, enjoy an extra discount in the Gift Shop, take a volunteer-led tour, and participate in family friendly activities in the Family Studio!
Volunteer-led tours will be available at 10:30am, and 12:00pm on a first-come, first served basis. Registration is not required, just meet us in the Atsuhiko and Ina Goodwin Tateuchi Foundation Courtyard in the Cultural Village.
Advance tickets are not required but are highly encouraged. Members can purchase additional guest tickets online or in-person during your visit. Last admission is at 2pm, and members have until 3pm to stroll the Garden.
*Golden Crane Recognition Society is invited to join us starting at 9:30am.
