Recognizing Asian American Native Hawai’ian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month
Our Members’ Day event happens during Asian American Native Hawai’ian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month. Every May, we take time to reflect upon and celebrate the remarkable role of the AANHPI community in our nation’s history. Founded in 1963 to heal the wounds of World War II, Portland Japanese Garden is proud to represent this community and exist as a place that can continue to inspire harmony and peace.
We’re also excited that our local partners, several of which are representative of the AANHPI community, will have a presence at Members’ Day! They include:
- Japan-America Society of Oregon
- Japanese American Museum of Oregon
- Lan Su Chinese Garden
- Ikebana International Portland Chapter #47
- Kashintei Kai
- Ikoi No Kai
- pFriem Family Brewers
- Creo Chocolate
- Freeland Spirits
- Anna Tono
- Yume Confections
- Araki Kodō VI
