In celebration of Portland Japanese Garden’s 60th Anniversary, we invite Garden members to join us for a special opportunity with Chief Curator, Sadafumi (Sada) Uchiyama to learn about the garden, its history, and intentionality.
Uchiyama is a fourth-generation Japanese gardener and landscape architect who’s been at the Garden for more than 15 years, playing a key role in the vision of Portland Japanese Garden as a cultural institution, the construction of the Cultural Village and Entry Garden, and the establishment of Japan Institute and its International Japanese Garden Training Center.
Afterward, there will be a reception featuring wine tastings from long-time partner Torii Mor Wines, along with light appetizers from Bamboo Sushi.
If you can’t make it to this member-only evening celebration, we hope you can join us for Portland Japanese Garden’s all-day celebration of our 60th anniversary earlier in the same day!
Since there is limited capacity for this event, we are planning on recording the conversation, which will be made available to all members at a later date.
