Japanese Garden Training Center Programs and Seminars Make Return in 2025

With the appointment of Hugo Torii as the new Director of the Japanese Garden Training Center, Japan Institute is excited to see the return of a full slate of programming in 2025. Torii, succeeding Curator Emeritus Sadafumi Uchiyama in the role, will oversee the Training Center in addition to his role as Garden Curator, fostering collaboration between garden maintenance and creative educational programming.

Returning the Training Center’s slate of lectures, workshops, and seminars was a top priority in 2025, and we’re pleased to share that we are doing just that. Below is a listing of our upcoming events. Don’t forget that much of the Training Center’s programming is reserved for members and those in the Golden Crane Recognition Society.
