Starting on Wednesday, February 21, a winter storm that surprised local officials and weather forecasters blanketed the Portland metro area with 11 inches of snow. Out of an abundance of caution, Portland Japanese Garden was closed to the public so its staff could clear pathways and make it safe for the return of our guests. Among the staff present helping tend to the landscape and clear debris and ice was one of our gardeners, Caleb Hendrickson. Hendrickson took some time to take some photos of the Garden covered in its fresh winter blanket, which we’re happy to share with you below. We look forward to seeing everyone back in the Garden soon and hope all stay safe and warm until then.
