Few things are lovelier than the Garden ablaze with fall color. But when do the leaves actually start to change? Factors like temperature, light, and water ensure that the onset and duration of fall colors are difficult to predict perfectly.

As of mid-October, fall colors are beginning to transform the Garden, but many of the leaves still have yet to transition from lush green to autumnal colors. Our famous Japanese Maple is beginning to turn slowly, but it has not yet reached peak fall colors.
