Golden Crane Opening Reception: Hanakago

The first Art in the Garden exhibition of 2018, beginning the Garden’s Year of Kyoto, will be of the fine Japanese bamboo art from the Kansai/Kyoto region, presented with changing displays of ikebana. The exhibition will feature museum-quality works from the collection of Portland resident Peter Shinbach, as well as examples provided by TAI Modern Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the leading Japanese bamboo art gallery in North America. Encompassing both the Tanabe and Pavilion Galleries, the exhibition includes work by Living National Treasure bamboo artists.

Golden Crane preview receptions provide our Golden Crane Society Members  the opportunity to experience each of our Art in the Garden exhibitions prior to their public opening.  At the receptions you will enjoy lite hors d’oeuvres, wine, sake and non-alcoholic beverages while learning more about the works presented from the artists themselves, and/or the exhibition curator. They are also the perfect social opportunity to meet other donors, who are passionate about the Garden and choose to support our mission at the Golden Crane level.
