Members are invited to experience the Garden during special seasonal extended hours. Take advantage of the longer evenings to enjoy the Garden, without the crowds. 

Tickets are required for this event. Please present your tickets in place of your member card at check-in. Members can enter as early as 5:30pm. Member Only Hours will begin at 6:30pm.

While enjoying Extended Member Hours, you’ll have the opportunity to view a selection of exquisite artworks up close and learn more about the fascinating world of netsuke. Netsuke (pronounced nets-keh) are miniature carvings originating in Japan during the nation’s vibrant Edo period. Netsuke were personal fashion accessories with a functional purpose, worn on the sash of a kimono and featuring designs filled with spirit, astounding detail, and entertaining style.

We’re honored to showcase netsuke from The Netsuke Collection of James R. Coonan, Denise C. Bates, and Lurline C. Menzies and The Marian Plumb Miller Collection.

For safety reasons, the Natural Garden may be closed early. 

*Members are always welcome to bring guests during any Member Hours. If any guests are not covered by the membership for free, extra tickets can be purchased at check-in. Members always receive a 20% discount on any general admission tickets.
