Cultural Demonstration: Ikebana

An exquisite floral display arranged in a black bowl on a table, crafted by the Ikenobo School of Ikebana.
A Rikka (standing flower) arrangement, one of three styles of arrangements taught by the Ikenobo School of Ikebana. Ikenobo is the oldest and largest ikebana school in the world.

Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging, has been translated as “living flowers” or “giving life to flowers.” Join us from 1:15 PM – 2:15 PM for an Ikebana presentation by Jeffrey Robson in the Jordan Schnitzer Japanese Arts Learning Center.

Portland Japanese Garden would like to thank The Miller Foundation and Toshiba International Foundation for their support of arts and culture programming.
