Drawing upon the natural beauty of the Pacific Rim, artist Donna Cole will hand form a ceramic vessel and sculpture inspired by the rhythm of water against land.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Donna Cole is a ceramic artist and educator. Formally trained by master ceramist Professor Yoshi Ikeda, Donna is influenced by Japanese aesthetics to create ceramic works that reflect balance and harmony in nature.
Donna formulates glazes that grow into crystalline formations during the cooling of the kiln. This movement creates a natural flow of glazes, creating a unique ceramic surface that cannot be produced by hand.
Donna’s sculpture draws upon the aesthetics of Japanese Stone Appreciation to invite viewers to awaken their imaginations and create their own story.
