
Hugo Torii, Garden Curator of Portland Japanese Garden and the Director of the Japanese Garden Training Center appeared on National Public Radio (NPR) to discuss the Garden’s cherry blossoms, which are currently still in peak bloom. In a story featuring the beloved flowers in places around the country, Torii told Morning Edition, “In Japan, sakura cherry trees are associated by being transient and ephemeral.
