DESCRIPTION:\n\nThis event has been canceled. We apologize for any inconvenience. \n\nJoin as textile expert Yoko Tamura discusses the art of or sakiori\, hand-weaving\, and its rich history. Sakiori is a traditional hand-weaving technique and has been widely practiced in the northern part of Japan since the mid-Edo period in the 18th century. Sakiori grew from the ancestral wisdom of not wasting cloth but giving it new life by recycling and reusing the cloth.
