This event has been canceled. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Kitsuke means the art of wearing a kimono, and mai means dance. Kitsuke master Miyo Tonegawa from Fukuoka, Japan, and her student Rie Nishijima will perform Kitsuke-Mai, Art of Wearing Kimono While Dancing, accompanied by koto music by Masumi Timson.

Miyo, a former headmaster of Kobe Kimono Academy, has been teaching and performing Kitsuke for over 35 years. Rie holds a teaching certificate for Kitsuke, and she will also perform Japanese dance. It normally takes from 30 minutes to an hour to wear a formal Kimono, but Miyo and Rie will do it in 4 minutes while dancing. Come and enjoy this beautiful and amazing performance!!!
