DESCRIPTION:In the exhibition Manga Hokusai Manga\, the Portland Japanese Garden will be the only venue in the United States to feature famous manga woodblock prints by the world famous Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai juxtaposed with work by top modern manga artists.\n\nThis exhibition will introduce some of the similarities and differences between modern Japanese manga (illustrated magazines)\, which now enjoy worldwide popularity\, and Hokusai Manga\, a collection of superb illustrations by the ukiyo-e artist Hokusai.\n\n\n\nGolden Crane preview receptions provide our Golden Crane Society Members  the opportunity to experience each of our Art in the Garden exhibitions prior to their public opening.  At the receptions you will enjoy lite hors d'oeuvres\, wine\, sake and non-alcoholic beverages while learning more about the works presented from the artists themselves\, and/or the exhibition curator.
