This is the second phase that occurs after the wood has been roughed out with a chainsaw.  Vince will walk through his process covering each phase from the raw to finished piece. Vince will focus on the use of the carving tools that he uses\; gouges\, files\, and chisels.\nAbout the Artist\nVince Skelly is a self-taught wood sculptor from Portland\, Oregon. He works with found and\n\n[caption id="attachment_13666" align="alignright" width="376"] Photo by Connor Meyer[/caption]\n\nselective chunks of wood that grow in the Pacific Northwest. His process starts with using a chainsaw to rough out the wood\, followed by using various hand tools to refine the form.
