Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging, has been translated as “living flowers” or “giving life to flowers.” Join us from 1:15-2:15pm for an ikebana presentation by Jeffrey Robson in the Jordan Schnitzer Japanese Arts Learning Center.
About the Artist
Jeffrey Robson has always been intrigued by traditional Japanese art forms such as bonsai, suiseki (viewing stones) and ikebana. He began studying the Ikenobō school ikebana in 2016, and has attained the rank of Kakyo, Assistant Professor 3rd grade. Ikenobō was established over 550 years ago with floral offerings created by priests at the Rokkaku-do Temple in Kyoto.
Portland Japanese Garden would like to thank The Miller Foundation and Toshiba International Foundation for their support of arts and culture programming.
