Aki Nakanishi gives a behind the scenes look at four pieces by internationally recognized ceramic artist and sculptor, Sueharu Fukami from Kyoto. These pieces on loan to the Garden by two Portland-based collectors for the art exhibition, “連” (ren) – Forging a Sense of Solidarity. Tune in to learn about the history of the artist, inspiration for the natural, organic style and renowned porcelain glaze, and Japanese tradition. Fukami is one of Japan’s most popular ceramic artists, and you can find his iconic pieces on show right here at Portland Japanese Garden.
