Portland Japanese Garden’s 55th Anniversary Gala on August 4, 2018 was a truly memorable evening thanks to our tireless Gala Planning Committee and extremely generous Sponsors. The event raised over $350,000 to support the Garden’s artistic and cultural programming. Thank you!
For the celebration we were honored to welcome His Excellency Shinsuke Sugiyama, the new Japanese Ambassador to the United States on his first official visit to Portland, as well as the Honorable Kate Brown, Governor of Oregon. We are also thrilled to announce that Ambassador Sugiyama has joined the Garden’s International Advisory Board as an honorary member.
