Physical Requirement

This workshop will involve lifting and/or moving items weighing up to 100 lbs. in small teams. Participants are occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by the training include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Change in Program Due to Weather

If weather conditions are deemed to affect the program, you will be notified as soon as possible.

Photograph & Video Usage

Photographs we take of anyone in the seminar may be used in editorial, social, advertising, collateral, internal documents and other purposes. By signing and submitting this application and participating in the seminar, you grant the Portland Japanese Garden the irrevocable and unrestricted right to use and publish photographs of you in any manner and medium, and to alter and composite the same without restriction, inspection, or approval.

Personal Property

The Portland Japanese Garden is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to any personal possessions.

Privacy Policy

The Portland Japanese Garden may use the information you provided in this form only for the purpose of processing the application within the organization. We will not share received information with any third party outside of our organization. However, the list of 2025 Training Seminar attendees will be shared within the group for purposes of establishing and maintaining a professional community.

While we understand that participants may need to document their work or be accessible during the workshop, we ask that for safety reasons you refrain from the use of cellphones during the hands-on workshop.

Waiver and Release of Liability

I agree to indemnify, release and forever discharge and hold harmless, and agree not to sue, the Portland Japanese Garden (PJG), its partners, owners, directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, heirs, successors and assigns (“Indemnified Parties”), of and from all actions, claims, cause of action, demands, damages and expenses of any nature whatsoever, known or unknown (the “Claims”), which I may have or hereafter have against the Indemnified Parties by reason of any harm sustained by my person and/or property in the course of my participation in the Portland Japanese Garden’s training programs. I agree that if I commence, join in, or in any way seek relief through a legal action or proceeding arising out of, based upon, or related to any of the Claims, I will pay the Indemnified Parties, in addition to any damages, all attorneys’ fees and costs in defending or responding to the Claims.

Cancellations

Cancellations received in writing by August 7th will receive a 50% refund. No refund can be made after August 7th.
