It also features an interview with the Japan Institute’s peace programming and its first Artist-in-Residence, Rui Sasaki. Commenting on Sasaki, Heuer writes, “she demonstrates resilience to loss by forging an intimate connection to whatever can still be embraced, finding succor in the perceived beauty of an environment, preserving it in glass for all of us to see.
