Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) journalist Steven Tonthat reported on Portland Japanese Garden’s new sibling organization, the Japan Institute. He spoke with Sada Uchiyama, Chief Curator and Director of the International Japanese Garden Training Center as well as Chief External Affairs Officer Lisa Christy. The story touches on what the Japan Institute will do through its three programming centers as well as why an organization such as this one is needed.
