Fall Color Update: October 8, 2019

Few things are lovelier than the Garden ablaze with fall color. But when do the leaves actually start to change? Factors like temperature, light, and water all affect the onset and duration of fall colors. Like the weather, the changes and timing are difficult to predict and are part of the joy of connecting with nature.

As of the second week of October, fall colors are beginning to transform the Garden, and there is a mix of lush green with trees that have transformed into reds, oranges, and yellows. Our famous Japanese Maple is still showing off shades of green and yellow and starting to show hints of orange.
