Mirrors of the Mind: The Noh Masks of Ohtsuki Kokun

14世紀に芸術として広がった能舞台と謎めいた能面は、いまでも観客を魅了し続けています。京都の能面師、大月光勲は物である木材に命を吹き込み、能面を作り続けています。本展では大月氏の能面３０点、本格的な能衣装を展示いたします。また能のレクチャーと公演により、ポートランド日本庭園にて能の世界をお楽しみいただけます。

Noh Theater and its enigmatic carved masks have captivated audiences since the 14^th Century. Master carver Ohtsuki Kokun of Kyoto continues the tradition, bringing static wood to life with otherworldly emotion. Thirty of Kokun’s Noh masks, a selection of authentic brocade costumes, and two performances bring the elegant world of Noh to the Portland Japanese Garden.
